Re-designation of IBTO as WHO Collaborating Center for 2017-2021
IRETM and universities of Kurdistan regional government to collaborate on academic and educational areas

A delegation from the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG )Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research including Dr. Nezakat (The representative of KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iran’s Affairs), Dr. Mustafa Faisal (The Head of International Affairs in Koya University) and Dr. Sarkheil Kareem ( The Head of IT Department in Halapja University) visited Iranian High Institute for Research & Education in Transfusion Medicine(IRETM) on 28th of August, 2017.

The goal of the visit was to identify the directions for the future cooperation between IRETM and Kurdish academic institutions.

Exchange of faculty members and/or researchers with the objective of offering courses and realizing research projects in areas mutually agreed, Exchange of experiences and best practices on the establishment of  blood transfusion related under-graduate and post-graduate courses such as hematology and blood banking in the universities of Kurdish Regional Government, development of joint research projects and joint publications and organizing joint seminars, conferences and workshops were among the priority areas that were discussed.

It was also agreed that the framework of cooperation to be outline in a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding.
